Prayer
Needs
"...The effective prayer of
a righteous man can accomplish much."
James 5:16b
For
the Ministry
Please pray that God will:
- Guide the transition as new owners have taken over the apartments and bless our relationship with the new management.
Specifically:
- Possible new lease for Clubhouse (Currently in discussion about details of potential change in lease length. Pray that we can continue to have a multi-year lease rather than a potential 12 months at a time.)
- Provide people who can:
- Lead various areas of the ministry
- Help with administrative tasks
- Develop our volunteer/leadership team in closeness and continued spiritual deepening
- Bring more Spanish-speaking volunteers for adult ministry & Youngest Kids Group
- Develop a ministry to the men of the community
- Provide continued and increasing favor with the community
- Provide spiritual protection and stamina for the current volunteer
team.
- Expand the ministry to the adults.
- Provide
financially for Amado and Stephen since they are involved full-time in
ministry and rely on the support of others.
- Pray for volunteers for library, mentoring, and reading time in the Clubhouse (this has begun on Saturdays 1:30 - 3:30 pm)
For
the Community
- Pray that people will be open to the Gospel and that more lives will
be changed.
- Pray for a family whose apartment and possessions were destroyed by fire
- Pray for the salvation of a community member serving a two-year prison sentence. (And for our ability to develop a relationship with him)
- Pray for the apartment ownership and management
Prayers
Being Answered!
- Request: Provide a consistent usable apartment or space for the Youth to meet
in on Tuesday nights.
(Answered: 3/4/2008, the Youth moved into their new apartment)
- Provide a consistent apartment that we can call our "ministry
home" until we are able to use the clubhouse. We are now using the Clubhouse for both Kids' Club and our Worship Service
- Request: That God would work specifically in the lives of the
Jr. High and High School kids. God is definitely answering this
prayer. What was once the most challenging group is now one of the most
exciting and consistent. Even kids that have moved away are willing
to take the DART bus home to be able to come back.

love to others by serving food at a homeless shelter. |
- The first and second phases of the clubhouse are now complete. Keep praying that God will guide us when to begin the 3rd (and final?) phase of renovation. (This will provide 3 more classrooms.)
"Then He said to His disciples, 'The harvest
is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, beseech the Lord of
the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.'"
